Matilda was born in 1031 in Flanders, France.  Matilda's father was Count Baudouin LeChauvre and her mother was Princess Adela Capet.  Her paternal grandmother was Princess Eleanore Normandy; her maternal grandparents were King Robert Capet II and Queen Constance Toulouse Taillefer.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 52 on November 2nd, 1083 in Caen, Calvados, France.


Matilda's family with King William Angevin

‌Matilda and William were married in a religious ceremony before 1051 in Flanders, Normandy, France.  They had a son and three daughters, named Henry Beauclerc, Magdalene Agatha, Gundred Andred and Adelaide.
