John Lee was born about 1522 in Culworth, Northamptonshire, England. John Lee's father was Thomas Latham and his mother was Elizabeth of Culworth. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas of Congleton de Latham and Mrs. Nicholas Latham. He had three brothers and a sister, named Rowland, Oliver, Thomas and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died before 1592 in England.-
