Maud (Matilda) de was born about 1230 in Trim Castle, Meath, Ireland.  Maud (Matilda) de's father was Gilbert de Lacy , Master of Meath and her mother was Isabella Bigod.  Her paternal grandparents were Walter de Lacy , Lord of Meath and Margaret de Braose; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Bigod , 3rd Earl of Norfolk, MCS and Maud Marshal. She had a sister named Margaret de.  She was the younger of the two children. She had four half-sisters named Avelina, Maud, Isabel and Joan.  She died on April 11th, 1304.

‌Maud (Matilda) de and Geoffrey 1st Baron de were married in a religious ceremony before August 8th, 1252 in 2nd husband.  They had two sons named Piers de and Simon de.
