Margaret de was born about 1228 in Ewyas Lacy, Herefordshire, England.  Margaret de's father was Gilbert de Lacy , Master of Meath and her mother was Isabella Bigod.  Her paternal grandparents were Walter de Lacy , Lord of Meath and Margaret de Braose; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Bigod , 3rd Earl of Norfolk, MCS and Maud Marshal. She had a sister named Maud (Matilda) de.  She was the older of the two children. She had four half-sisters named Avelina, Maud, Isabel and Joan.  She died after June 10th, 1256 in Alton Castle, Cheadle, Staffordshire, England.

‌Margaret de and John le Botiller de were married in a religious ceremony before May 14th, 1244 in Ewyas Lacy, Herefordshire, England.  They had a son and a daughter, named Theobald 1st Baron de and Emoine (Edmunda) le.
