Thomas De Holland Earl of was born in 1314 in Upholland, Lancaster, England.  Thomas De Holland Earl of's father was Robert De Holland and his mother was Maud La Zouche.  His paternal grandparents were Robert De Holland and Elizabeth De Salmesbury; his maternal grandparents were Eudes La Zouche and Milicent De Cantelou. He had a brother and four sisters, named John, Joan, Margaret, Elizabeth and Maud.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 46 on December 26th, 1360 in Normandy, France.

‌Thomas De Holland Earl of and Joan Plantagenet Countess of were married in a religious ceremony in 1348.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Thomas De Holland II Earl of, Edmund, John De Holland Duke of, Margaret, Joan and Eleanor.
