Sir Thomas de Hungerford 
Thomas de was born in 1340 in Farleigh-Hungerg, Somersetshire, England. Thomas de's father was Sir Walter de Hungerford and his mother was Elizabeth FitzJohn. His paternal grandfather was Walter III de Hungerford; his maternal grandfather was Sir John FitzAdam. He was an only child. obtained permission to crenelate Farleigh, thereby converting his manor to a castle
was charged with treason for fortifying Farleigh without permission from Richard II, but was pardoned, fined, and soon afterward procured a charter for free title to all his estates

Occupation: bailiff for the Bishop of Salisbury, was knighted and chosen to fill the chair as Speaker of the House of Commons, the first person formally mentioned in the rolls of Parliament as holding that high office.
