August was born on December 16th, 1891 in Odell Nebraska. August's father was John Hohl and his mother was Christina Burley. His paternal grandparents were John Nicholas Hohl and Anna Marie Frueh. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John Nickolaus, Charles B, George, Caroline, Anna and Christine. He died at the age of 73 on April 15th, 1965 in Cottonwood California.-
