His paternal grandparents were Adam de Hoghton , Sir and Agnes; his maternal grandparents were William de Lea , Baron of Kendall and Clemence de Banastre. He had two sisters named Sibyl de and Katherine de. He was the youngest of the three children. He died in 1385 in Lea Hall, Preston, Lancashire, England.General Notes

Sir Adam de Hoghton 1345-1385, son of Sir Richard de Hoghton and Sybilla de Lea. Represented the County of Lancashire in Parliaments 1348, 1363, 1365 and 1383 and helped build Lancaster Castle with 200 oak trees from the estate. Went abroad with John, Earl of Richmond 1359.
