Alexander De was born before 1268 in Hilton Near Wearmouth, Durham, England. Alexander De's father was Sir Robert 1St Baron De Hilton Sir and his mother was Joan Le Breton. His paternal grandparents were Sir Alexander De Hilton Sir and Agnes Verly; his maternal grandparents were William Le Breton and Mrs. William Le Britton. He had two brothers named Robert and William De. He was the oldest of the three children. He died about 1303 in Rennington, Alnwick, Northumberland, England (Dvp).General Notes
[ALEXANDER DE HILTON, 1st son and heir apparent. His father gave him Rennington, and in January 1289/90 he, as lord of Rennington, gave a piece of land to Alnwick Abbey by a charter to which his father was a witness. As Sir Alexander de Hilton, Knight, he acknowledged a debt in December 1292. In April 1294 he granted the manor of Lawford, Essex, to Benedict de Cokefeud. He headed the Subsidy Roll in Rennington in 1296. He married Elizabeth (c).
