William de was born about 1170 in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, England. William de's father was Robert de Harcourt , Sir and his mother was Isabel de Camville , Heiress of Stanton. His paternal grandfather was Ivo de Harcourt , of Shenton; his maternal grandparents were Richard de Camville , of Lilbourne & Stanton and Millicent de Stanton de Rethel. He had a brother and a sister, named Richard de and Alice de. He was the oldest of the three children. He died on April 6th, 1228.General Notes
