Rainer IV Count of was born in 0955.  Rainer IV Count of's father was Rainer III Count of Hainault and his mother was Alix Countess of Equish.  His paternal grandparents were Regnier II Hainault Count of Hainault and Adelaide of Burgundy; his maternal grandfather was Hugo Count of Dagsburg and Egisheim. He had a brother named Lambert I Count of Barbant &.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 58 in 1013.
