William HERBERT

William was born about 1405 in Raglan Castle, Monmouthshire, England and his baptism took place in Godwin. William's father was sir William THOMAS and his mother was Gwladus Verch DAFYDD"gam". His maternal grandparents were Dafydd "Gam" Ap LLEWELYN KNIGHT and Gwenllian Verch GWILYM. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Thomas, Margred and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers named Thomas, Watkin, Roger and William. He died on July 27th, 1469 in Banbury, Northamptonshire, England. He was buried in Tintern Abbey, Chapel Hill, Monmouthshire, England.
