Henry I Count of Zutphen & was born in 1117 in Guelders, Holland. Henry I Count of Zutphen &'s father was Gerard II Count of Guelders and his mother was Ermengarde of Zutphen. His paternal grandparents were Gerard I de Wassenburg Count of Guelders and Clemence de Poitou; his maternal grandparents were Otto II Count of Zutphen and Judith. He was an only child. He died at the age of 65 in 1182. He was buried in Built Castle at Zutphen.-
