Henry I Count of Zutphen & was born in 1117 in Guelders, Holland.  Henry I Count of Zutphen &'s father was Gerard II Count of Guelders and his mother was Ermengarde of Zutphen.  His paternal grandparents were Gerard I de Wassenburg Count of Guelders and Clemence de Poitou.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 65 in 1182.  He was buried in Built Castle at Zutphen.
