Gwenllian verch was born about 1086 in Caernarvonshire, Wales. Gwenllian verch's father was Gruffudd ap Cynan , King of Gwynedd and her mother was Angharat verch Owain. Her paternal grandparents were Cynan ap Iago , Prince of North Wales and Ragnaillt O'Olaf of Dublin; her maternal grandparents were Owain ap Edwin and Morwyl verch Ednywain. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Cadwaladr ap, Owain Gwynedd ap, Margred verch and Susanna verch. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died in 1137 in Maes Gwenllian, outside walls of Kidwelly, Wales.-
