Thomas I was born about 1266 in Heaton, Newcastle, Northumberland, England. Thomas I's father was John De Grey Of Chillingham, Sir and his mother was Lucy. His paternal grandparents were Sir Hugh De Grey and UNNAMED. He had three brothers named Hugh, Henry and Andrew. He was the youngest of the four children. He died in 1310 in Forfarshire, Scotland.
