His paternal grandparents were John de Grey , of Standlake and Elana de Clare; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Bardolf , Lord of Waddington, Sir and Isabel de Condet. He had two brothers named Richard de and John de. He was the youngest of the three children.General Notes
