William Gorton Sr. 
William was born in 1705 in (Or 1708) Warwick, Kent Co., Ri. William's father was Samuel Gorton and his mother was Elizabeth Collins. His paternal grandparents were John Gorton and Margaret Wheaton\Weedon; his maternal grandparents were Ellyza or Elizur Collins and Sarah Wright. He had a brother named Edward. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 84 on December 3rd, 1789 in Warwick, Kent Co., Ri.-
