Mabel FitzRobert Countess of's father was William FitzRobert 2nd Earl of Gloucester and her mother was Hawise de Beaumont. Her paternal grandfather was Robert de Caen , 1st Earl of Gloucester; her maternal grandparents were Robert II de Beaumont , 2nd Earl of Leicester and Amice de Montfort. She had two sisters named Amice FitzRobert Countess of and Isabel FitzRobert Countess of. She was the oldest of the three children. She died in 1198 in Evereux, Eure, Normandy, France.General Notes
John (King of England) prevented her (Isabel, youngest daughter of William FitzRobert) taking a second husband at all for the time being, however, and exchanged the Earldom of Gloucester with Aumarie de Montfort, son of William FitzRobert's eldest daughter Mabel, for the Comte of Evereux, which he then used as a dowry to secure the marriage of his niece Blanche with the King of France's son.
