Emma de was born about 1075 in Folkingham, Bourne, Lincolnshire, England. Emma de's father was Gilbert de Gant , Lord of Folkingham and her mother was Alice Countess de Montfort. Her paternal grandparents were Ralph de Gant , Sire d'Alost and Gisele of Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were Hugh II Count de Montfort and Alice de Beauffou. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Hugh de, Walter de, Peter de, Felia de and Agnes de. She was the third oldest of the six children. She died in 1135.General Notes
