Agnes De was born about 1092 in Folkingham, Lincolnshire, England. Agnes De's father was Lord Of Folkingham Gilbert De Gilbert De Lord Of Folkingham/Gand (Gaunt) and her mother was [Countess Montfort-Heiress] Alice De Montfort [Countess Montfort-Heiress]. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Hugh IV (Gaunt) De, Henry De, Ralph De, Geoffrey De, Walter De, Robert De, Peter De, Gilbert De, Walter De, Felia De, Emma De, Matilda De and Alice De. She was the youngest of the fourteen children.
