Gerberge of was born in 0564 in Franconia, Germany. Gerberge of's father was Richemeres Duke of Franconia and her mother was Gertrudis of Moselle. Her maternal grandparents were Ansbertus the Gallo-Roman Senator and Blithilde Princess of Gaul. She was an only child.
They had a son and a daughter, named Erchembaldus Duke of and Sigrada.
