Yolande of was born about 1175 in Flanders, France.  Yolande of's father was Baudouin VIII Count (V of Hainault) of Flanders and her mother was Margaret of Margaret of , Countess of Flanders/Alsace.  Her paternal grandparents were Baudouin IV "Le Batisseur" Count of Hainault and Alix de Namur; her maternal grandparents were Thierry III of Lorraine , Count of Flanders and Sybil d' Anjou. She had a brother and two sisters, named Baudouin IX Count (VI of Hainault) of, Isabella of and Sibyl van.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died in August 1219 in Constantinople, Turkey.
