Gundred of was born about 1052 in Flanders, France.  Gundred of's father was Gherbod the Fleming , 1st Earl of Chester and her mother was Matilda (Maud) of Flanders. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Robert II "Curthose" Duke of, William II "Rufus" King of, Henry I "Beauclerc" King of and Adela of.  She died on May 27th, 1085 in Castle Acre, Norfolk, England (in childbirth).  She was buried in Priory of Lewes, Sussex, England.
