Isabel was born about 1230 in Shere, Farnbridge, Surrey, England.  Isabel's father was Sheriff Yorkshir John (Justiciar Of Ireland) Fitz Sheriff Yorkshir/John (Justiciar Of Ireland) and her mother was Isabel Bigod. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Richard (1St Lord Fitzjohn), Avelina, Maud, Aveline and Joan.  She was the oldest of the seven children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Walter De, Margaret De and Maud (Matilda) De.
