Maud was born about 1237 in Shere, Surrey, England. Maud's father was John FitzGeoffrey , Justiciar of Ireland, Sir and her mother was Isabella Bigod. Her maternal grandparents were Hugh Bigod , 3rd Earl of Norfolk, MCS and Maud Marshal. She had three sisters named Avelina, Isabel and Joan. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had two half-sisters named Margaret de and Maud (Matilda) de. She died in Grey Friars, Worcestershire, England.
