Alan II Lord was born about 1238 in Bedale, North Ride Yorkshire, England. Alan II Lord's father was Brian II FitzAlan , Lord of Bedale and his mother was Alice Hansard. His maternal grandfather was Gilbert FitzMaldred Hansard. He had two half-brothers named William III 1st Baron le and John le. He died before May 17th, 1267 in Killed by Payn le Keu in self-defense.General Notes

(d) Pardon to Payn le Keu of Brandesburton for the death of Alan de Bedale, as it appears by inquistion made by Richard de Middleton that Payn killed Alan in self-defence: 17 May (Patent Roll, 51 Henry III, no. 18). York: Agnes late the wife of Alan fitz Brian gave half a mark for an assize taken before Richard de Middleton.
