Isabel de was born about 1220 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.  Isabel de's father was William III de Ferrers , 5th Earl of Derby and her mother was Sibyl Marshal.  Her paternal grandparents were William II de Ferrers , 4th Earl of Derby and Agnes of Chester , Lady of Chartley; her maternal grandparents were William Marshal , 3rd Earl of Pembroke and Isabel de Clare , Countess of Pembroke. She had four sisters named Agnes de, Maud (Matilda) de, Eleanor de and Joan de.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert de, William IV, Elizabeth de, Joan de, Agnes de and Berta de.  She died before November 26th, 1260 in Torre Mohun, Devonshire, England.

‌Isabel de and Reynold II de were married in a religious ceremony before 1243 in 2nd husband 3rd wife.  They had two daughters named Margaret de and Isabel de.
