Agnes de was born about 1252 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.  Agnes de's father was William III de Ferrers , 5th Earl of Derby and her mother was Margaret de Quincy.  Her paternal grandparents were William II de Ferrers , 4th Earl of Derby and Agnes of Chester , Lady of Chartley; her maternal grandparents were Roger de Quincy , 2nd Earl of Winchester and Helen of Galloway. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert de, William IV, Elizabeth de, Joan de and Berta de.  She was the second youngest of the six children. She had five half-sisters named Isabel de, Agnes de, Maud (Matilda) de, Eleanor de and Joan de.  She died after May 9th, 1281 in Charlton Musgrove, Wincanton, Somerset, England.
