Asa was born about 0705 in Uppland, Norway. Asa's father was Eystein "Haardaade" Throndsson King of Hedmark and her mother was Solveig Halfdansdottir. She had a brother named Hogne. She was the older of the two children.
Asa and Halfdan "White Leg" were married in a religious ceremony in 2nd wife. They had a son named Eysteinn I "Fart".
