Edward III The Confessor King of England 
Edward III The Confessor King of was born in 1002. Edward III The Confessor King of's father was Aethelred II King of England and his mother was Emma of Normandy. His paternal grandparents were Edgar The Peacful King of England and Aelfrthryth of Devon; his maternal grandparents were Richard I The Fearless III Duke of Normandy and Gunnora De Crepon. He had a brother and a sister, named Alfred of and Godgifu Princess of. He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Edmund II "Ironside" King of and Aelfgifu Princess of. He died at the age of 64 in 1066.General Notes
Reigned 1042-1066. Named for his piety and his foundation of a new Westminster Abbey (consecrated in 1065). He lived in Normandy (1016-41) and
his early reign was dominated by rivalry between his Norman favourites and
his father-in-Law. After 1053 the Goodwins were in the ascendant. Edward's
childlessness led ultimately to the Norman conquest. He was canonised in 1161.
His feast day is 13th October.
