Alice of was born about 1114 in Selby, Yorkshire, England. Alice of's father was Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and her mother was Isabel Elizabeth de Beaumont. Her paternal grandparents were William I "The Conqueror" King of England and Matilda (Maud) of Flanders. She had a sister named Constance. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Henry, Reynold de, Robert de, William de, Robert, Maud of, Maud "The Empress" Princess of, Sibylla, Mabel (Eustacia), Elizabeth of and Matilda of. Matthew was Constable of France.
