Joan d' was born about 1270 in Laxton, Uppingham, Northamptonshire, England. Joan d''s father was John d' Engaine , of Colne Engaine& Laxton, Sir and her mother was Joan de Greinville. Her paternal grandparents were Viel d' Engaine , of Laxton and Rohese Montgomery; her maternal grandparents were Gilbert de Greinville , of Halton, Sir and Joyce. She had a brother and a sister, named Nicholas d' and Joyce d'. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died on June 1st, 1315 in Greenfield Priory, Lincolnshire, England.General Notes
Joan, widow of Walter FITZROBERT (died 1293; 1st son and heir apparent of Robert (FITZWALTER), 1st LORD FITZWALTER), 1st daughter of Sir John ENGAINE, of Laxton and Blatherwycke, Northants, by Joan, daughter and heir of Sir Gilbert DE GREINVILLE, of Hallaton, co.
