General Notes

!    Born 2243 B.C. Lived 239 years. A very short sentence tells a great story: "And unto Eber were born two sons; the name of one was Peleg; for in his days were the earth divided." (Gen.10:25) This does not mean the dividing of the people, but of the earth.  The Lord has declared that in the last days "...the earth shall be like as it was in the days before it was divided." (D&C 133:24)  When the Lord created the earth it is recorded: "And God said, Let the water under heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear." (Gen. 1:9) Dr Velikovsky noted in his book Earth Upheaval that "...all the continents and islands were once a single land mass that in various epochs divided and drifted apart." He also stated "... the theory of drifting continents is grounded on the increasing well-proven doctine of isostacy or the flotation of the crust of the earth on plastic magma..."     The fact remains, that the earth, or the continents, were divided as per God's plan, for thus did He have Nephi prophesy: c.600 B.C. "...that this land (the Americas) should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations..." (2 Nephi 1:8).
