Richard of Cornwall was born in Winchester Castle, Hampshire.  Richard of Cornwall's father was John Lackland Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Isabella Taillefer de AngoulIme.  His paternal grandparents were Henry II "Curt Mantel" King of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry III Plantagenet, Joan, Isabella and Eleanor. He had fourteen half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Oliver, Richard, Geoffrey, Sir John FitzJohn, Odo (Eudo), Ivo, Henry, Osbert, Hugh de Lusignan, Guy de Lusignan, Geoffrey le Brun, Sir William de Valence, Aymer Ademar de Valence, Henri de la Marche, Isabella, Joanna, Matilda, Alice, Isabella, Marguerite, Agnes and Isabella.  He died on April 2nd, 1272 in Berkhamsetad Castle, Hertfordshire.
