Sir Thomas Dutton lived 1249, in the time of Henry III, and was still living in 1268. He purchaser Clatterwigh, a hamlet in Little Legh. He built the chapel at the manor of Dutton towards the end of Henry III reign. He married Phillipa, daughter and heiress of Vivian Sandon or Standon, by whom he had lands in Staffordshire. They had Hugh. Thomas, Robert, Katherine and Margaret, who married William Venables. References:
