Thurstan was born about 1122 in London, Middlesex, Eng.. Thurstan's father was Duke Guillaume III of Alencon & Talvas and his mother was Heli (Ela) of Bourgogne. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Gui II of Ponthieu, Guillaume of Talvace, Clemence of Alencon and Ala (Adela) of Talvace.
