BIOGRAPHY: He kept a general store, and amassed considerable property. In his will he gave to his wife Prudence, 1/4 of his personal property, and also the use of all his real estate as long as she remained his widow. To his sons John & Stephen the lands lying in the Town of Glastonbury (which he received from Thomas & Sarah White) after their mother's decease or remarriage. To his sons Simon & Joseph his dwelling house in middletown, and all the lands which he owned in Middletown, after their mother's decease or remarriage. To his daghters Prudence, Mary & Rebecca 3/4 of his personal estate to be equally divided among them. To all his sons & daughters in equal dower the lands in the town of Lyme which he received from his father by deed or gift. Simon was appointed sole executor. The witnesses were Nathaniel Lavidge & John Lavidge. Joseph DeWolf, aged 14 years, made choice of Thaddieus Wells of Glastonbury to be his guardian. Thaddieus Wells accepted the trust Dec 12, 1733.
