Hugh De Venables 
Hugh was born in 1197 in Kinderton, Cheshire, England. Hugh's father was William De Venables. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert De Venables and Margery De Hatton. He was an only child. He died at the age of 72 in 1269.General Notes
Sir Hugh Venables, eldest son, grants to his son Roger by deed without date his lands in Eccleston and the advowson of the church to the intent that he should endow with ten pounds worth of lands. To this same Roger he grants the manor of Wittin and the advowson of Routherstone. To this deed he affixed a seal charged with the present coat of Venables and circumscribed "Sigillum Hugo de Venables." He married Agnes, daughter of Ranulph de Oxton. He also had a first wife, Wentilian, whom he divorced after having had numerous issue by her.
