William Sire was born about 1064 in Tancarville, Le Havre, Seine-Inferieure, Normandy, France. William Sire's father was Raoul De Tancarville and his mother was Agnes Stigand. His paternal grandparents were Gerold De Tancarville and Helesinde; his maternal grandfather was Eudes Stigand. He was an only child. He died in 1129.
