Toda was born about 0970.  Toda's father was Guillaume I Taillefer Comte de Provence and her mother was Countess Adelaide (or Blanche) D'Anjou Countess.  Her paternal grandparents were Boso II de Comte Provence and Constance de Vienne; her maternal grandparents were Foulques II "le Bon" Comte D'Anjou and Gerberge of the Gatinais. She had a brother and two sisters, named Guillaume II, Gerberga Of and Constance.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Bertrand II, William III Taillefer, Philippa and Alice.
