Roger was born about 1020 in Mortemer-sur-Eauline, Normandy, France. Roger's father was Bishop Of Coustances Hugh and his mother was Gunnora De Crepon , Duchess Of Normandy. His maternal grandfather was Harald Blaatand King Of Denmark. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard II, "The Good" Duke Of Normandy, Godfrey, Robert Archbishop Of Rouen Count Of Evereaux, "The Bastard" Count of Eu, Mauger Of, Hedwig and Queen Of England.
