Sir Hugh IV De Montfort 
Hugh IV was born about 1075 in Folkingham, Lincolnshire, England. Hugh IV's father was Lord Of Folkingham Gilbert Comte De Gand Lord Of Folkingham and his mother was Alice Comtesse De Montfort. His paternal grandparents were Ralph II Comte De Gand and Gisele of Luxembourg; his maternal grandparents were Hugh II Seigneur De Montfort and Alice De Beauffou. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Walter, Walter, Felia, Emma and Agnes. He was the third youngest of the six children.General Notes
BIOGRAPHY: Hugh de Montfort, who, on account of his mother being so great an heiress, assumed the name of Montfort, inherited all the possessions of his grandfather and was called Hugh the fourth. This Hugh, having m. Adeline, dau. of Robert, Earl of Mellent, joined with Waleran, her brother, and all those who endeavoured to advance William, son of Robert Curthose, against King Henry I in 1124, and entering Normandy for that purpose, he was made prisoner, with the said Waleran, and confined for the fourteen years ensuing. The time of his death is not ascertained but he left issue, Robert; Thurstan; Adeline, m. to William de Britolio; Ada, m. to Richard, son of the Earl of Gloucester.
