Hugues IX De Lusignan 
Hugues IX was born about 1163 in Limoges, Haute-Vienne, France. Hugues IX's father was Hugh VIII "Le Vieux" De Lusignan and his mother was Berbone De Rancon. His paternal grandparents were Hugh VII "Le Brun" De Lusignan and Sarazene; his maternal grandfather was Geoffrey De Rancon. He had three brothers named Raoul, Amaury and Geoffrey I. He died in 1219 in Damietta.General Notes
In January 1200 he intercepted Eleanor of Acquitaine on her way to Castile and held her at Lusignan Castle until she agreed to cede him the County of La Marche
They had a son named Hugues X.
