Milicent was born in 1189 in Ashby, Buckinghamshire, England.  Milicent's father was Hugh V De Gournay and her mother was Juliane de Dammartin. She had a brother named Hugh VI.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 71 in 1260.
