Richilde was born about 1090.  Richilde's father was Hugh Comte De Clermont and her mother was Margaret De Montdidier De Roucy.  Her paternal grandparents were Renaud De Clermont and Ermengardis De Clermont; her maternal grandparents were Hildouin IV Comte De Montdidier and Alice (Adela) De Roucy. She had a brother and two sisters, named Renaud, Adeliza and Erementrude.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
