His paternal grandparents were Robert FitzHardinge and Alice De Gant; his maternal grandparents were Roger III De Berkeley and Hawise De Paynel De Beaumont. He had a sister named Maud FitzHarding. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 76 on November 29th, 1243.-
