Robert "Bossu" was born in 1104 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. Robert "Bossu"'s father was Earl of Leicester Robert De Beaumont Earl of Leicester and his mother was Isabel De Crepi De Vermandois. His maternal grandparents were Hugues De Crepi of France and Adelle (Adelaide) De Vermandois. He had a brother and four sisters, named Waleran IV, Isabel Elizabeth, Adeline, Alice and Maud. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Rainald, William III and Gundred (Adelaide). He died at the age of 64 on April 5th, 1168 in England.
