Foulques III "The Black Count" was born about 0970 in Anjou, France.  Foulques III "The Black Count"'s father was Geoffrey Grisgonelle De Anjou I, Count Of Anjou and his mother was Adelaide De Vermandois , Countess.  His paternal grandparents were Fulk II De Anjou , "The Good" and Gerberga De Arles; his maternal grandparents were Robert De Vermandois , Count Of Vermandois and Adelaide De Chalon , Countess of Troyes. He had two sisters named Ermengarde and Gerberge.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died on June 21st, 1040 in Anjou, France.
