Simon II de was born about 1172 in Dammartin, Seine-et-Marne, France.  Simon II de's father was Alberic II Comte de Dammartin and his mother was Maud (Mathilde) of Clermont. He had three sisters named Juliana de, Philippa de and Agnes de.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died on September 21st, 1239 in Abbeville, Somme, France.  He was buried in Valoires, France.
